30 Days of Godzilla

3: Favorite Human Protagonist

Dr. Daisuke Serizawa from Gojira.

The one character fans know by heart. Everything from the pulpy 50s eye patch to his moral dilemmas he’s faced with throughout the film to his  downfall, he really epitomizes a tragic character.  That becomes very apparent in Godzilla vs Destoroyah where his greatest fear and failure becomes the enemy of the film.

A close second would be Mr. Shindo from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.

2: Favorite Kaiju

Not counting Godzilla: King Ghidorah.

Often considered by many fans to be Godzilla’s greatest enemy. The Joker to Goji’s Batman, the Lex Luthor to Goji’s Superman. Just his appearance alone is imposing, yet regal. From the gold appearance to the wings to the three heads and so on and so forth, his presence is really felt whenever he has appeared in a movie and honestly, he’s the one Toho Kaiju I would absolutely love to see in a future Godzilla reboot sequel.

30 Days of Godzilla

1: Favorite movie (all time)

Without a doubt, the original Gojira.

There really is no explanation needed. It’s the film that started it all. It’s my favorite Godzilla film and my favorite monster movie period. A close second would be Godzilla vs Destoroyah.

I’m as damn hyped for the new Godzilla as pretty much everyone on the planet, but I’m starting to wish they stop cranking out videos because at this rate by the time the movie rolls in we’ll already have seen everything that happens

We barely have 2 minutes and 19 seconds of new footage. This isn’t how Marvel and Sony market their superhero/tentpole movies.

I hope this new Godzilla movie isn’t gonna be wack. The previews remind me too much of inception. Too much end-of-the-world shit with overly-enhanced computer graphics. Let’s not compromise the authenticity of Godzilla. So far, I like the 1999 version better. I just hope the movie is nothing like what it seems right now.

"Too much end-of-the-world shit" OP has never seen a Godzilla movie before…
